Douglas Education Center (DEC), located in Monessen, PA is a creative, career school offering programs in special make-up effects, cosmetology, illustration, graphic design, digital film, medical, and business.

Instructors in each program are industry professionals with experience and knowledge of the field, giving students the competitive edge upon graduation.

In the world-renowned Tom Savini's Special Make-Up Effect Program students learn all aspects of make-up effects like mask masking, prop making, mold making and casting, teeth and eyes, limbs, creature design, make-up, sculpting, and animatronics. This program collaborates with The Factory Digital Filmmaking Program at Douglas where students are writing, directing, producing, and editing films, documentaries, trailers, and working on real world projects.

The other art programs, which include cosmetology, illustration, fantasy art, and graphic design, also offer creative resources for student projects such as storyboarding, graphic creation, movie poster design, hairstyling, fashion make-up, airbrushing, and digital effects.

This collaboration makes DEC unique, and gives students the opportunity to work together in a team-oriented environment.
