The Portfolio and Career Development Center was created to give students in the art and entertainment disciplines a professional area for portfolio foundation.
The center, run by professional photographer, Patrick Sopko, is located in the Van Keulen Complex in the hallway connecting to the Digital Film Building.
Mr. Sopko has provided students with a calendar of his schedule, and they can set up one-on-one time with him to work on their portfolios. This center is open to students in any semester, and they are encouraged to meet with Mr. Sopko many times while at Douglas, so their portfolio can reflect how their work has changed and developed.
Mr. Sopko is available to take professional photographs of student work, teach students how to light their own pieces for photography purposes, how to use social networking when promoting themselves and their products, help with how to layout and design a competitive portfolio, and so much more.
