ALLAN AND WILSON’S DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION PROGRAMASSOCIATE IN SPECIALIZED BUSINESS DEGREE

THE PROGRAMPROGRAM COVERSJIM ALLAN / PHIL WILSON GRAD SUCCESS
Computers can’t do everything. They make great tools, but you need to know how to engage readers and tell a story through your work. Illustration is the springboard for a variety of art and design occupations, and can be especially valuable for those pursuing careers in comic books, publishing, journalism, courtroom art, animation and gaming.

Everywhere you turn, images are communicating something. You see things that others do not. Whether your tool of choice is colored pencils, pen and ink, paint, or digital media, art is your passion. You draw, think, observe, take risks, conceptualize and dream vivid images. This is your life. This is your dream. OWN IT.

Jim and Phil co-created Allan & Wilson Animation Studio in 1979, with their first half-hour children’s animated special Allison and the Magic Bubble airing on HBO, followed by their second half-hour special, A Star for Jeremy, which aired on Showtime and network TV in 1983. A Star for Jeremy won the bronze award from the International Film and Television Festival of New York. Jim and Phil also worked on animation for motion pictures and various TV commercials.

“Being an illustrator requires a fertile imagination, dedication to mastering media and techniques, plus a discipline to work ethic… such as deadlines. It is a career filled with creativity, and opportunities limited only by your own imagination, abilities and aspirations. Anything is possible!” – Phil Wilson
