Student Life at DEC: Where Campus Comes Alive!

At Douglas Education Center, Student Life is all about creating a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging campus experience. We’re here to support your personal and social growth with activities that help you unwind, connect, and make lasting memories outside the classroom.

Throughout the semester, we host a variety of events and experiences designed to bring students together, celebrate the seasons, and add a little fun to your day.

Here’s a taste of what you can look forward to:

  • Movie Nights – Grab some popcorn and enjoy a film with friends.
  • Summer Picnics – Soak up the sun with food, games, and good vibes.
  • Holiday-Themed Parties – Celebrate the seasons with festive fun.
  • Spring Egg Hunt – A campus-wide search for eggs and surprises!
  • Coffee Bars – Warm up and wind down with a cozy cup of coffee.
  • Popsicle Day – Cool off with a refreshing treat!
  • St. Patty’s Day Punch – A festive treat to celebrate the luck of the Irish.
  • Walking Taco Tuesdays – Tacos you can take on the go? Yes, please!
  • Stress Relief Color Murals – Relax and express yourself through collaborative art.
  • Kindness Trees – Share uplifting messages and brighten someone’s day.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, take a break from studying, or just have some fun, Student Life at DEC has something for everyone.

The student lounge is located in the Van Keulen Complex.  This is a place where students have the opportunity to hang out with classmates, watch TV, and enjoy hot and snack food options. There is also a Student Museum filled with amazing projects that were created by DEC graduates that students can explore.

STUDENT SERVICES GUIDE

Since DEC attracts students from all around the globe, a Student Service Guide is made available. It is meant to help students learn more about the surrounding area. From finding the perfect restaurant, to locating the nearest ATM, to emergency services this guide will help point you in the right direction. Click the link to the downloadable PDF here:
